Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Electrical Engineer for our Rustenburg-based client in the North West. The role focuses on designing, developing, and testing electrical systems for new vehicle models, working with mechanical, software, and systems teams.

You will create schematics, validate with simulations and prototypes, and ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and EMC standards while delivering reliable, high-performance architectures.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in automotive electrical system design.
• Proficient with CAN bus, LIN bus and automotive protocols.
• Experienced with CAD and simulation tools (Altium, AutoCAD Electrical, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink).

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical system testing and validation, utilizing simulation tools and physical prototypes.
• Analyze test results, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with suppliers to select and procure electrical components that meet design requirements and cost targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive electrical system design and development.
• Strong understanding of automotive electrical architectures, CAN bus, LIN bus, and other communication protocols.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, AutoCAD Electrical) and simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink).
