Job summary

EnableSA in Port Elizabeth is seeking an experienced Automation Electrician to join our team, responsible for maintenance, installation, and commissioning of generator systems and control panels.

You will configure PLCs, diagnose faults, perform testing, and ensure safety and reliability on site, with on-call standby and travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Industrial electrical/automation experience in generator environments.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with PLCs, control systems, HMIs, and generator controllers.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel and petrol generator systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, automation, and control system faults on generators and associated equipment.
• Install, wire, test, and commission generator systems, control panels, and ATS.
• Configure, program, and troubleshoot generator controllers and PLCs.

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Automation Electrician to join their Port Elizabeth team,

• Performpreventative and corrective maintenance on diesel and petrol generator systems
• Diagnoseand repair electrical, automation, and control system faults on generators andassociated equipment
• Install,wire, test, and commission generator systems, control panels, and AutomaticTransfer Switches (ATS)
• Configure,programme, and troubleshoot generator controllers, PLCs, and related automationequipment
• Conductfunctional testing, load bank testing, and commissioning of generatorinstallations to ensure compliance with operational requirements
  
• Fault-findon power distribution, control circuits, protection systems, and generatorsynchronisation equipment
• Assist withelectrical upgrades, modifications, and system improvements to enhancereliability and performance
  

Requirements

• Grade12
• Minimum of3-5 years' experience in industrial electrical, automation, or generatorsystems environments
• Experiencewith generator installations, maintenance, and fault finding will be advantageous
• Strongunderstanding of AC/DC electrical systems, motor control circuits, and dieselgenerator operations
• Experiencewith PLCs, control systems, HMI interfaces, and generator controllers such asDeep Sea Electronics (DSE), ComAp, or Lovato
• Ability toread and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panellayouts
  
• Experiencewith Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), synchronisation systems, and standbypower installations
• Soundknowledge of electrical fault finding and diagnostics using testing equipment
• Knowledgeof industrial health and safety standards relating to electrical installationsand generator systems
• Computerliterate with the ability to complete service reports and maintenance records
• Valid CodeEB driver's licence is essential
• Willingnessto travel to customer sites and participate in an on-call standby rotation foremergency breakdowns
