Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Automation Electrical Engineer for Vereeniging to design, implement and maintain automated systems that boost production efficiency and quality. You'll handle PLC programming, HMI development, and robot integration.

The ideal candidate has a BEng in Electrical/Mechatronics, 6+ years in industrial automation, and hands-on experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and robotics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical/Mechatronics) or equivalent.
• 6+ years in industrial automation and electrical engineering.
• PLC programming (ladder logic and structured text) and HMI/SCADA.
• Robotics experience with KUKA or FANUC desirable.
• Strong understanding of electrical control systems, sensors, actuators.
• Familiarity with Profibus/Ethernet/IP networks.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving in industry.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Able to read and interpret complex electrical drawings.
• Experience in manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems for automation.
• Develop and configure HMIs and SCADA systems.
• Integrate and commission industrial robots and machinery.
• Create electrical schematics and control panels.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues to minimize downtime.
