Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a maintenance technician to inspect, service and repair vehicles to OE specifications. You will evaluate defects, identify needed parts, and perform repairs under direct supervision while adhering to Health and Safety procedures.

You will maintain accurate records, report findings, sign for parts, and assist with standby shifts. A strong focus on safety, housekeeping, and teamwork is essential to keep workshop operations efficient.

Qualifications

• Apply basic Health and Safety procedures under supervision.
• Identify hazards and follow instructions to handle them.
• Select materials and equipment for tasks.
• Resolve maintenance problems independently.
• Maintain records and report maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate/check the vehicle for general defects before repairs.
• Write a technical report on the scope of repairs required to repair the vehicle.
• List spare parts required to repair the vehicle.
• Strip components of vehicles.
• Clean and assess parts for wear and damage.
• Sign for spare parts received as requested.
• Assemble stripped-down components with newly used parts.
• Identify systems on components failure, discuss with Workshop Foreman, and record findings on the job card.
• List all tasks performed on the vehicle on the job card, the spares used, and the time taken to complete each task.
• Service and repairs vehicle to OE specifications and schedules.
• Perform standby/breakdown after after-hours duty.
• Maintain acceptable productivity and efficiency levels.
• Report unsafe working conditions/equipment to Team Leaders/Workshop Foreman.
• Assist in relevant operations/operational functions as required.
• Maintain housekeeping standards daily; ensure dress code is by company SOP and health and safety standards.
