Job summary

Bonafide Human Capital is assisting a well-known commercial dealer client based in Isando, Gauteng, to fill a vacancy for a qualified Diesel Truck Service Auto Electrician. The role focuses on repairing trucks according to dealer standards and specifications with productive efficiency.

As an Auto Electrician, you will perform service operations, maintenance repairs, and adhere to workshop policies while ensuring vehicles are kept clean and parts are correctly booked on Repair Orders.

Qualifications

• Matric and Auto Electrician qualification as a minimum requirement.
• Clear criminal record and valid driving license (C1 required).
• EC license is an added advantage.
• Adhere to dealer/distributor standards and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure tools and equipment are used with utmost care.
• Maintain clean, safe workshop and tidy work bay.
• Handle service and repair of diesel trucks per standards.

Job description

Our well known Commercial dealer client based in Isandocurrently has a vacancy for a qualifiedDiesel TruckService Auto Electrician.

The primary purpose of this position is to repair Trucks according to dealer/distributor’s standards and specifications in the most productive way.

As an Auto Electrician, you are, responsible for performing all kinds of service operations, defined assembly operations and maintenance repairs with the highest level of quality and efficiency.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Repair and servicing of vehicles according to dealer/distributor standards and within the flat rate


• Establish parts required for service/repair to be performed and ensured correct parts are ordered


• Report to n promptly on any additional work required


• Obtain authorization prior to carrying out any additional work


• Advise Management prior to fitting any major parts outside the norm for routine servicing/repair


• Obtain technical information from Service Foreman on problem jobs


• Adhere strictly to technical specifications as laid down by manufacturer, or as instructed by Management


• Adhere to laid down workshop policies and procedures


• Note the description of all work performed on the back of Repair Order if required


• Place all used parts in plastic bag, except oil & fuel filters, and place on passenger floor


• All warranty replaced parts to be tagged according to laid down rules, and handed to Parts department


• Ensure all oils and parts used are booked out on Repair Order


• Ensure vehicle is kept as clean as possible, and use all protective items supplied


• Ensure work bay is kept safe, clean and tidy


• Ensure time started and completed are entered on Repair Order (Clocking)


• Report any faulty and / or broken equipment is reported to management


• Ensure all special tools and equipment are used with utmost care


• To possess a complete set of tools, as per distributor requirements, and maintain in good working order


• Ensure a neat appearance at all times – overalls to be changed after heavy repairs


• Maintain cordial relationship with workshop staff


• Training as per HQS Requirements


• Standby and after hours servicing as per Service Foreman arrangements


• Accept responsibility for apprentices/helpers and impart through training/explanation/practice, the necessary skills required to perform the job correctly, and thereafter to inspect /monitor the work and rectify any
  problems
