Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Airline/Commercial Pilot (ATPL) to join the Mossel Bay flight crew in the Western Cape. The role involves operating modern aircraft on domestic and international routes, ensuring safety, compliance, and exceptional passenger service.

Ideal candidates will have 3000+ flight hours, multi-engine and instrument experience, an active First Class Medical Certificate, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• ATPL with appropriate type ratings for aircraft fleet.
• Minimum 3000 hours total flight time, with significant multi-engine and instrument time.
• Current First Class Medical Certificate.
• Excellent knowledge of aviation regulations, procedures, and navigation techniques.
• Proven leadership and decision-making skills under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Eligible to work in South Africa with valid passport.

Responsibilities

• Command and operate assigned aircraft safely and in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Conduct pre-flight inspections, assess weather, and review flight plans for feasibility.
• Manage crew effectively with clear communication throughout flights.
• Monitor aircraft systems, performance, and flight parameters; adjust as needed.
• Respond to in-flight emergencies calmly and decisively.
• Maintain accurate flight logs and records.
• Adhere to security procedures and protocols.
• Provide excellent customer service with a professional demeanor.
• Collaborate with Air Traffic Control and operations staff for smooth operations.
• Participate in recurrent training, simulator sessions, and checks.
