Job summary

Mediclinic Durbanville in Durbanville, Cape Town, is seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to oversee the technical team and optimise operations within the facility.

You will act as the management representative for quality management, continuous improvement, and occupational health and safety related to engineering aspects of the facility. The role focuses on maintenance to uphold assets to their original state, ensuring reliable hospital operations.

Qualifications

  • Essential education: NQF level 6 Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (heavy current) with Thermodynamics and Electro Technology at 2nd-year level.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee management and maintenance of building, plant and equipment.
  • Manage and support technical projects within the hospital.
  • Manage and mitigate Technical Operations risk within the hospital.
  • Oversee on-site contractors/suppliers in the hospital.
  • Ensure quality management and continuous improvement within Technical Operations.
  • Manage stakeholder relations and client service within the technical environment at Mediclinic.
  • Lead and manage the people in the technical team.
  • Manage and control department budget/finances.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Under the supervision of the Technical Manager oversee the technical team and manage, improve, and optimise the technical operations within the facility. To act as the management representative for quality management, continuous improvement, and occupational health safety related to the engineering aspects of the facilities. The core purpose of this position is to perform maintenance on buildings and equipment to ensure that assets are upheld to their original state.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

NQF level 6 Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (heavy current) with Thermodynamics and Electro Technology passed at 2nd-year level.
