Job summary

Old Mutual South Africa is seeking a Senior Facilities Manager (Technical) to lead strategic and operational management of all facilities services at Mutualpark campus. You will drive technical maintenance, capital projects, contract governance, and tenant management to ensure a safe, compliant, and resilient working environment.

You will oversee day-to-day building infrastructure, critical systems, and performance of service providers, aligning with business objectives and customer experience

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in Facilities Management or related fields.
  • Senior-level experience on large corporate campuses.
  • Capital projects and infrastructure upgrade experience.
  • Contract and vendor management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead facilities operations and maintenance across campus.
  • Oversee capital projects and governance for investments.
  • Manage contracts, service partners and SLAs.
  • Drive business continuity, safety and compliance.
  • Mentor facilities teams and foster performance culture.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory, OHSA, and risk controls.

Job Description

The Senior Facilities Manager (Technical) is responsible for the strategic and operational management of all facilities-related services at the Mutualpark campus. The Senior Facilities Manager will lead the delivery of technical maintenance, engineering services, capital projects, contract management, workplace operations, business continuity initiatives, and tenant management to ensure a safe, efficient, compliant, and resilient working environment. The Senior Facilities Manager will assume accountability for the safe operation, maintenance, statutory compliance, and governance of all applicable machinery, installations, and engineering systems in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and associated regulations. The role is accountable for the day-to-day management of building infrastructure, critical engineering systems, service provider performance, and campus operations while ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, operational excellence standards, and customer experience expectations. The position may also be required to provide technical leadership, engineering expertise, and facilities support to other OMLACSA campuses and regional facilities as required.

Minimum Work Experience
  • 7+ years' experience in Facilities Management, Building Operations, Engineering, or Property Management.
  • Minimum 2 years in a senior role.
  • Proven experience managing large corporate campuses or commercial properties.
  • Demonstrated experience managing capital projects and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Strong experience in contract and vendor management.
  • Experience within Financial Services, Corporate Real Estate, Banking, Insurance, or similar regulated environments preferred.
  • Experience managing mixed-use environments including offices, retail tenants, and shared business centres.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in:

Advanced Facilities Management and Building Operations expertise
  • Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Services Engineering
  • Sound understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulations
  • Working knowledge of General Machinery Regulations (GMR 2.1 and 2.7) responsibilities
  • Asset Lifecycle Management and Infrastructure Planning
