Job summary

Mediclinic seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee technical operations within the facility. You will manage maintenance of buildings and equipment, lead the technical team, and ensure quality management and safety across engineering aspects.

Ideal candidate has 4+ years post-graduate engineering experience with HVAC and power supplies, and holds an NQF 6 engineering qualification. A valid driver’s license and reliable transport are required.

Qualifications

  • NQF level 6 Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (heavy current) with Thermodynamics and Electro Technology passed at 2nd-year level.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management and maintenance of building, plant and equipment
  • Manage and support technical projects within the Hospital
  • Manage and mitigate Technical Operations risk within the Hospital
  • Oversee and manage on-site contractors/suppliers in the Hospital
  • Ensure quality management and continuous improvement within Technical Operations
  • To manage stakeholder relations and client service within the technical environment at Mediclinic
  • Lead and manage the people in the technical team
  • Manage and control department budget/finances

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Under the supervision of the Technical Manager oversee the technical team and manage, improve, and optimise the technical operations within the facility. To act as the management representative for quality management, continuous improvement, and occupational health safety related to the engineering aspects of the facilities. The core purpose of this position is to perform maintenance on buildings and equipment to ensure that assets are upheld to their original state.
