Job summary

Farm Manager SA seeks a hands-on Farm Supervisor for the George Area in the Western Cape. A degree or diploma in agriculture with a horticulture or agronomy major is required, with at least 2 years' farm experience and staff supervision.

You will coordinate land prep, sowing, fertilization and irrigation with management, manage weed control and production records, and oversee irrigation infrastructure and vehicle/equipment maintenance on a compact herb farm serving RSA wholesalers and exports.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in agriculture with horticulture or agronomy major.
• At least 2 years practical farm experience in horticultural or agronomic production and staff supervision.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans, proficient with Excel.
• Hands-on and capable of participating in all farm activities on a compact, intense farm.

This company produces 20 kinds of fresh culinary herbs, on 35 ha, on open fields, on shade nets and in greenhouses, to wholesalers in RSA and export to Switzerland

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in agriculture with major in Horticulture or Agronomy.
• At least 2 years practical farm experience in horticultural or agronomic production and staff supervision.
• Integrity, self-motivated, attention to detail, fluent in English and Afrikaans, proficient with Excel.
• Be hands-on and participate in all farm activities as is necessary on a compact, intense farm.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
