Job summary

Farm Manager SA in KwaZulu-Natal seeks an experienced farm manager to oversee day-to-day operations, lead staff and optimise crop and livestock production.

You will plan irrigation, manage crop spraying, maintain records and ensure safety and efficiency across all activities, with flexibility to work weekends.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial farming management experience.
• Practical knowledge of crop and livestock production.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management.
• Zulu-speaking ability will be advantageous.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Basic computer literacy and sound record-keeping skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Hard-working, reliable and willing to work flexible hours, including weekends when required.
• Good problem-solving and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all day‑to‑day farm activities and operations.
• Lead, manage and motivate farm staff and teams.
• Manage crop production including seed potatoes, maize, soya and cabbages.
• Oversee livestock management and general animal husbandry.
• Plan and manage irrigation schedules and water usage.
• Coordinate and manage crop spraying schedules and applications.
• Maintain accurate financial, operational and administrative records.
• Monitor farm inputs, stock, equipment and general resources.
• Identify operational problems and implement practical solutions.
• Ensure work is carried out efficiently, safely and to the required standards.
