Job summary

Jobtailor in Kempton Park, Gauteng seeks a Warehouse Management System (WMS) expert to lead system support, training, and process improvements across warehouse operations. You will bridge warehousing, IT, and management, ensuring system performance, data accuracy, and successful UATs during rollouts.

The role requires hands-on experience with WMS software (Blue Yonder, Dispatcher, JDA, Red Prairie), strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvements while training staff

Qualifications

Grade 12 or equivalent.
Intermediate computer literacy (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
2+ years in Logistics/Supply Chain/Warehousing or related field.
1–2 years in a system super-user, key-user, or system support role.
Experience with system rollouts, UAT, or training.
Excellent written and verbal communications.
Strong interpersonal and team-based collaboration skills.
Experience as Warehouse Supervisor, Inventory Controller, or System Super User preferred.
Knowledge of lean warehousing and process automation.
Hands-on experience with WMS software (Blue Yonder, Dispatcher, JDA, Red Prairie).
Strong understanding of inbound/outbound/inventory management, picking, put-away, and shipping.
Ability to run system queries, reports, and basic troubleshooting.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities; data analysis for inventory accuracy and KPIs.

Responsibilities

Ensure effective use and continuous improvement of the Warehouse Management System in daily operations.
Act as liaison between warehouse, IT, and management.
Provide end-user support, training, and participate in upgrades or process improvement initiatives.
Execute system-driven warehouse activities to maximize productivity and balance workload.
Serve as first point of contact for WMS-related issues.
Monitor system performance and ensure accurate processing of transactions.
Troubleshoot errors and escalate unresolved issues to WMS/IT support.
Test new functionalities, upgrades, or patches before deployment.
Manage UAT for system updates and changes.
Ensure accuracy of master data (SKU, bin locations, stock attributes).
Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts and stock adjustments.
Validate inbound, outbound, and internal warehouse transactions in the system.
Report system/process anomalies to management.
Train staff on WMS processes and best practices; update manuals and documentation.
Act as SME during audits and compliance checks.
Analyze daily operations for bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
Suggest workflow/system usage improvements.
Support new project rollouts, WMS implementations, and integrations.

Requirements

Grade 12
Intermediate computer literacy level in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Logistics/ supply chain/ warehousing or likely Business
At least 1-2 years in a system super-user, key-user, or system support role
Proven experience in system rollouts, UAT, or training
Excellent written & verbal communications skills
Strong interpersonal skills & able to work in a collaborative & team-based environment
Aptitude to multi-task & employ effective problem solving abilitiesPrevious experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Inventory Controller, or System Super User is preferred
