Job summary

Craven Cottage CC in KwaZulu-Natal, Mkuze, seeks an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to lead room attendants, cleaners, and laundry staff. You will check rooms and public areas daily, manage shifts, and coordinate with engineering and front desk on room statuses.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and a formal hospitality qualification are required.
• At least 5 years' housekeeping experience, including 4 in a supervisory role.
• Experience in staff scheduling, stock control, room inspections, and quality standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong attention to detail.
• Experience in hotel or lodge housekeeping supervision is preferred.
• Familiarity with health, safety, hygiene regulations and housekeeping software.

Duties

• Lead and coordinate room attendants, public area cleaners, housemen, and laundry staff.
• Check guest rooms, suites, cottages, public spaces, linen cupboards, and back-of-house areas daily.
• Assist in scheduling shifts, running in-house laundry/linen services, and stepping in as department head when the Executive Housekeeper is away.
• Monitor and order cleaning supplies, guest amenities, uniforms, and linen stock.
• Report maintenance and repair issues to the engineering team and coordinate room statuses with the front desk.
• Train new staff on hotel standards, safety procedures, chemical handling, and eco-friendly or country-property guidelines.
• Handle special requests, VIP setups, lost-and-found items, and guest feedback.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• A formal hospitality qualification
• At least 5 years' housekeeping experience, including at least 4 in a supervisory role
• Skilled at staff scheduling, stock control, room inspections and quality standards
