Network Recruitment is partnering with a leading hospitality and gaming group to recruit an experienced Assistant Financial Manager in Johannesburg. The role combines technical accounting with commercial oversight and team leadership.

You'll be CA(SA) qualified with at least 2+ years post-articles experience, IFRS, tax and VAT knowledge, and a proven ability to engage senior stakeholders while driving budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes.

Our client, a major player in the hospitality and gaming industry , is looking for an experienced Assistant Financial Manager to join their high-performing finance team.

This is an opportunity for a CA(SA) who enjoys getting into the detail while still understanding the bigger commercial picture. You'll be involved across financial reporting, IFRS, tax, VAT, budgeting and forecasting, while also taking responsibility for a team and engaging with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial reviews, analysis and management reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS.
• Prepare and review tax and VAT submissions, reconciliations and calculations, including engagement with SARS.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Prepare and review annual financial statements and provide technical input on IFRS, tax and Companies Act matters.
• Support internal and external audits, group reporting and key finance projects.
• Lead, manage and develop the finance team while ensuring reporting deadlines are consistently met.

Minimum Requirements

• CA(SA) essential.
• 2+ years' post-articles commercial experience.
• Strong IFRS, financial reporting, tax and VAT knowledge, including SARS liaison.
• Experience with annual financial statement preparation and review, budgets and forecasts.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; exposure to Accpac or CaseWare advantageous.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
