Job summary

HotelJobs is seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to support the Financial Controller and GM at a luxury wildlife estate near Kruger National Park. You will oversee monthly reporting, internal controls, budgeting and audit prep to ensure compliance and profitability.

The role requires hotel finance experience, proficiency with ACCPAC/Sage 300, PMS/POS, advanced Excel, and strong leadership to mentor the finance team and liaise with auditors.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in hotel finance or hospitality accounting
• Minimum three years in a supervisory or Assistant Financial Controller role
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field advantageous
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and internal controls

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review daily revenue reports across PMS, POS and Sage 300/ACCPAC systems.
• Reconcile clearing accounts, accounts receivable, guest ledgers, refunds and deposits.
• Compile monthly management accounts, forecasts and variance analyses.
• Assist with annual budgets, strategic plans and capital expenditure studies.
• Support audit preparation and liaise with internal and external auditors.
• Implement and monitor internal controls in line with SOPs and group policies.
• Ensure statutory requirements and financial submissions, including VAT, are met on time.
• Conduct spot checks and audits across revenue and cost areas.
• Supervise daily revenue reconciliations prepared by Night Audit and F&B Cost Control teams.
• Train, mentor and develop finance team members
