Job summary

The Assembly Manager role at SMARTNETWORK (SMARTPLACEMENTS) in Gauteng oversees daily assembly operations, safety, quality and output of the Assembly Department. You will lead a team, plan resources and ensure production targets are met.

The position requires five years in plastics manufacturing with supervisory experience, knowledge of lean and 6S, and ISO 9001 compliance. You will drive continuous improvement and staff development, with shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Matric with Mathematics and English.
• N6 Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Minimum of five years’ production experience within the plastics manufacturing industry, preferably injection moulding.
• Minimum of five years’ supervisory or management experience.
• Experience with Takt time and one-piece-flow manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and 6S principles.
• Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification or experience.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
• A Supervisory Management Certificate will be advantageous.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime or extended hours when required.
