Job summary

Sibanye Stillwater seeks a qualified professional to provide mechanical services and support for the installation and maintenance of rail networks through effective management of rail crews.

The role emphasizes adherence to safety, documentation, and regulatory standards, with responsibility across maintenance, installation, stakeholder liaison, and cost-control initiatives. On-site deployment within the rail operations environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 required.
• 3+ years' experience in installation and maintenance of rail networks.
• Valid Code 10 License and PDP.
• Medically fit for the role.
• Clear security screening record.
• Possession of Tracklayer, Boilermaker trades, or Blasting certificate.

Responsibilities

• Administration and completion of relevant documentation.
• Adherence to document control standards and procedures.
• Provisioning of data and information.
• Safekeeping of documentation.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Maintenance, installations and construction of surface rail networks.
• Adhere to equipment, maintenance, installation and construction to Transnet specifications and SANS 3000.
• Safe, correct use of equipment and machinery.
• Adherence to maintenance schedules.
• Escalation of unresolved breakdowns or maintenance issues.
• Stakeholder relations and contracting with service providers.
• Liaising on environmental management requirements.
• Collaborating with external providers on tool design and implementation.
• Cost-saving and cash conservation initiatives.

• Have valid Code 10 License & PDP
• Be medically fit to work in the specific business area
• Have clear security screening record
• Be in possession of one of the following: Tracklayer Certificate or Platter/Boilermaker Trade Certificate or Blasting Certificate

• Sourcing, contracting and negotiating with service providers.
• Liaising with the necessary entities on any environmental management related requirements and alignment where applicable.
• Collaborating with external service providers regarding the design and implementation of tools to enhance processes.
