Job summary

Job description

Salary: Grade A: R253 341 per annum; Grade B: R297 249 per annum; Grade C: R 45 342 per annum

Centre: Caledon Hospital, Theewaterskloof Sub-district

Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate Trade Test Certificate (Plumbing).
• Experience: Grade A: No experience required.
• Grade B: At least 18 years appropriate/recognisable experience in the area after obtaining the relevant Trade Test Certificate.
• Grade C: At least 34 years appropriate/recognisable experience in the area after obtaining the relevant Trade Test Certificate.
• Inherent requirements of the job: Valid (Code B/EB/C1) driver’s license.
• Must be prepared to work overtime and perform standby duties after hours, including weekends and Public Holidays.
• Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 and its relevant regulations.
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Supervisory skills, strong administrative skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Duties

• Manage the workshop and its functions, and perform repairs, maintenance and installations for the different facilities and assist with managing all emergencies
• as per the emergency maintenance protocol.
• Compiling of minor specifications, attend site meetings and manage outsourced contractors.
• Responsible for the necessary administrative functions of the workshop, compiling reports, maintaining registers, and assist with the control of the workshop budget.

• Exercise control over tools, equipment and materials, and ordering of tools and materials.
• Management of the performance and supervision of staff, implement the disciplinary code when required and provide support to managers,
• supervisor and colleagues.
