Placements24 is seeking an Artisan Pastry Chef to lead the pastry department for luxury catering in Rustenburg, North West. You will craft exquisite desserts, breads, and pastries for upscale events, overseeing both concept and execution.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Artisan Pastry Chef or Pastry Chef de Partie in fine dining or luxury catering.
• Formal culinary or pastry arts qualification.
• Strong portfolio of pastry creations.
• Excellent knowledge of baking techniques and presentation.
• Experience in inventory management and cost control (HACCP).

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, and present pastries, desserts, cakes, and breads for events.
• Develop new seasonal pastry items aligned with trends.
• Manage pastry inventory, stock rotation, ordering, and waste minimization.
• Maintain hygiene, food safety, and sanitation in pastry kitchen.
• Collaborate with Executive Chef to integrate pastry into menus.
• Ensure consistent quality and artistic presentation.
• Train and mentor junior pastry cooks and kitchen assistants.
• Cost control for pastry ingredients and products.
• Maintain pastry equipment and keep it clean and functional.
• Contribute ideas during menu planning sessions.
