Job summary

Maziv is hiring an Area Network Owner in Parow, SA to coordinate activities on the network, ensuring the highest quality, performance, and longevity. You will oversee and manage all network activities within a geographic area to ensure provisioning and maintenance meet strict quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, experience with fibre networks, and a proactive approach to maintenance, incident management, and financial discipline in network operations.

Qualifications

• Matric with strong technical exposure.
• Experience leading a team in a telecoms or network environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of Fibre Networks and related technologies is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure circuit provisioning and network acceptance meet standards with minimal fails.
• Provision network for all orders and potential orders.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance inspections and planned network maintenance.
• Coordinate reactive maintenance to resolve unplanned issues efficiently.
• Demonstrate effective people management and leadership within the team.
• Maintain and improve conditions of network elements under ANO control (e.g., POPs, street cabinets).
• Ensure efficiency in financial management related to network operations.
• Document and maintain as-builts from field activities.
• Manage network incidents throughout the business process.

The Area Network Owner isresponsible for coordinating the activities on the network to ensure quality, performance of internal and external teams to ensure longevity, quality, and performance of the network. To oversee and manage all activities in a specific geographical area of the Network to ensure, the network is provisioned and maintained to the highest quality.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS & TASKS)

• To ensure Circuit Provisioning and Network Acceptance is thorough and accurate, and a high-quality network is delivered. (Over Inspection of network standards vs spec) & > 0.5% fails.
• Ensure that the Network is provisioned for all orders and potential orders.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance inspection routines, ensuring that the network is proactively inspected.
• Conduct planned Network maintenance to ensure the network is maintained to the highest standard.
• Coordinate the reactive (break fix) maintenance system to ensure that any unplanned issues are resolved as efficiently and effectively as possible. (1,25% of Active subs & NPS 50).
• Practice Effective People management principles.
• Maintain and improve the conditions of elements within the ANO's control not limited to POPS, STREET CABINETS etc
• Ensure efficiency in financial management.
• Document and maintain as-builts according to field activities.
• Conduct planned network maintenance and scheduled changes to ensure network is maintained to the highest standard.
• To actively manage network incidents throughout the business process.

Competencies and Minimum Requirements:

Knowledge, qualifications and experience

• Matric
• Preferably Technical Tertiary Education.
• 4 years in a team leadership position.
• Preferably experience in a supervisory position.
• Knowledge of Fibre Networks.
