Job summary

Mayfly Agri in Limpopo invites an Agriculture Sales Specialist to grow our portfolio of biological crop protection products. You will engage farmers, provide IPM guidance, and tailor solutions to local crops.

You will travel within the region, conduct on-farm demonstrations, manage CRM data, and collaborate with the Sales Manager and distributors to expand market share.

The role requires a degree in agriculture, at least two years of sales experience, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or related science.
  • Minimum 2 years' sales experience in agricultural products (experience in biological products is advantageous).
  • Sound knowledge of summer row crops (grains) and regional crops (citrus, subtropical fruits, grapes, vegetables, berries, nuts).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; self-discipline and reliability.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively within the territory.
  • Based in or willing to be based in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an existing customer portfolio through regular engagement and support.
  • Proactively acquire new business and expand market share for biological products in the region.
  • Provide expert IPM advice and tailor product packages to customer needs.
  • Develop and implement a targeted sales plan with Sales Manager and distributors.
  • Maintain daily schedules, customer data, and sales funnel using CRM tools.
  • Handle client follow-ups, technical queries, administration and logistics for orders.
  • Conduct on-farm visits, product demonstrations, and field trials to show effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain relationships with distributors, growers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback; report to management.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and training to promote biological solutions.

Minimum requirements for the role:
  • Must have a Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or similar science degree
  • Minimum 2 years' sales experience specifically in agricultural products (experience in agricultural biological products is advantageous)
  • Must have a strong practical understanding of summer row crops (grains) plus regional crops including citrus, subtropical fruits, grapes, vegetables, berries, and nuts
  • Self-disciplined, independent worker with a positive team-player attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and full willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
  • Must be based or willing to be based in the region
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Efficiently managing daily schedule, customer data, and sales pipeline using CRM tools.
  • Handling all client follow-ups, technical queries, administration, and logistics coordination for orders.
  • Conducting on-farm visits, product demonstrations, and field trials to showcase the performance and application of biological solutions.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with distributors, growers, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback; reporting performance, forecasts, and opportunities to management.
  • Participating in industry events, trade shows, and training sessions to promote biological solutions and stay at the forefront of crop protection knowledge.
