Are you a commercially driven operations leader with a passion for performance, growth, and people development?

Our client is seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of multiple sites, driving operational performance, profitability, and leadership capability across a large, geographically dispersed team.

Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, you will take ownership of business performance across your portfolio, drive growth and operational improvement, and develop the management talent needed for long-term success.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be accountable for the performance and profitability of multiple sites, including:

• Leading a portfolio of 5-10 locations.
• Driving sales growth, profitability, and operational performance.
• Leading and developing approximately 20 managers.
• Providing leadership oversight across 180-350 employees.
• Owning P&L performance, budgets, forecasts, and key operational metrics.
• Driving operational efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Leading site turnaround and performance improvement initiatives, through structured improvement plans.
• Holding managers accountable for business, people, operational, and financial outcomes.
• Building succession pipelines and developing future leaders.
• Embedding a culture of ownership, accountability, and high performance.
• Supporting regional growth strategies and broader business objectives.

OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE

Essential Experience

• Proven experience managing multiple stores, branches, depots, business units, or operational sites.
• Experience overseeing 5-10 locations simultaneously.
• Responsibility for teams of approximately 180-350 employees.
• Experience leading and developing management teams of approximately 20 managers.
• Demonstrated P&L ownership and financial accountability.
• Proven success in driving operational improvements and business growth.
• Experience managing managers rather than frontline teams.
• Strong performance management and accountability capability.
• Experience developing talent and building succession pipelines.

• Experience within one or more of the following multi-site environments preferred:
  • Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) / Restaurant Operations/ Retail/ FMCG/ Logistics and Distribution/ Franchise Operations/ Convenience Retail.

YOUR REWARD

• Salary: R45,000 – R50,000 per month
