About the Role

Our client, a prominent national provider of integrated facilities services, is seeking an experienced Area Cleaning Manager to oversee cleaning operations across multiple sites in the Mossel Bay region. This senior role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a strategic approach to managing cleaning teams and resources. The Area Cleaning Manager will be responsible for ensuring consistent service delivery, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety, and fostering excellent client relationships. This position offers a dynamic work environment, managing a geographically dispersed team and ensuring operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the continued success and growth of our client's services in the Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all cleaning operations across designated sites in the Mossel Bay area. Lead, train, and mentor a team of site supervisors and cleaning staff to ensure high performance and adherence to standards. Develop and implement effective cleaning strategies, schedules, and quality control measures. Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation for cleaning services. Foster strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and ensuring high levels of satisfaction. Implement best practices in sanitation, waste management, and infection control. Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained, and supplies are managed efficiently and cost-effectively. Recruit, onboard, and manage cleaning personnel, ensuring adequate staffing levels. Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.

Requirements

Significant experience (5+ years) in a managerial role within the cleaning, facilities management, or hospitality industry. Proven track record of successfully managing cleaning operations across multiple sites. Strong understanding of cleaning technologies, chemicals, health, and safety standards. Excellent leadership, team management, and motivational skills. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client relationship management abilities. Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Proficiency in using management software and standard office applications. Ability to travel regularly within the assigned area of Mossel Bay, Western Cape . A degree or diploma in a relevant field is advantageous. Resilience and adaptability to manage diverse operational challenges.
