Placements24 is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist for a reputable firm in Rustenburg. You will translate concepts into buildable solutions, produce detailed drawings and specifications, and coordinate with consultants to progress projects through all phases.

With 5+ years in commercial projects and strong AutoCAD/Revit skills, you will ensure technical accuracy, drive BIM coordination, and contribute to tendering and construction documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or National Diploma in Architectural Technology or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as Architectural Technologist on commercial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit BIM; strong detailing skills.
• Solid understanding of construction methods, materials and SA regulations (SANS).
• Ability to work independently and in a team; strong communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with contract administration is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed architectural drawings (plans, elevations, sections, details) using CAD software.
• Develop technical specifications for materials, finishes and construction methods.
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical engineers and other consultants.
• Assist in tender documentation and construction contract administration.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure design conformance.
• Review shop drawings and samples submitted by contractors.
• Ensure documentation adheres to building codes and standards.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
• Collaborate with design team to resolve technical issues during design/construction.
• Utilise BIM software to enhance coordination and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as an Architectural Technologist, with a focus on commercial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and other relevant architectural software.
• Strong understanding of building construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
• Excellent technical drawing and detailing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with contract administration is advantageous.
• Familiarity with South African National Standards (SANS).
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
