Placements24 seeks an Architectural Technologist to translate concepts into precise technical drawings and specifications. The role blends in-office collaboration with remote flexibility to support Cape Town projects.

You will ensure compliance with building regulations, coordinate with architects and engineers, and contribute to tender documentation and construction knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or diploma in Architectural Technology required.
• SACAP registration as Pr.Arch.Tech is highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in architectural technology practice.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM) and SketchUp.
• Strong technical drawing and detailing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD and BIM software.
• Prepare construction documentation for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors for technical accuracy and coordination.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, zoning laws, and health and safety standards.
• Assist in preparation of tender documentation and contract administration.
• Research and specify building materials and systems.

• Proficiency in architectural software, including AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and SketchUp.
• Strong understanding of building construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Excellent technical drawing and detailing skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa .
• Based in or willing to commute to Cape Town, Western Cape .
