Job summary

Placements24 in Welkom, Free State, seeks an accomplished Architectural Designer to lead design teams and drive project development from concept through construction. You will translate client visions into compelling architectural concepts and manage the project lifecycle in a fast-paced studio.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in architectural design and project management, proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite, and SACAP-eligible status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in architectural design and project management.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Demonstrated experience leading design projects from start to finish.
• Thorough understanding of building codes and construction methods in SA.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for architectural projects from conceptualization to detailed design development.
• Develop innovative architectural designs that meet client requirements and project objectives.
• Prepare high-quality architectural drawings, renderings, and presentations.
• Coordinate with engineering consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

This role is crucial for driving the design and development of a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from commercial and residential to institutional buildings. You will be responsible for leading design teams, translating client visions into compelling architectural concepts, and overseeing the project lifecycle from inception through to construction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong design sensibility, excellent technical proficiency, and the ability to manage projects efficiently. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in leading design projects from start to finish.
• Thorough understanding of building codes, construction methods, and materials relevant to South Africa.
• Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with contract administration and construction oversight is a plus.
• Registered or eligible for registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).
