Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients and conduct research on client businesses, operations, performance, and industry trends.
  • Conduct due diligence for infrastructure finance operations and provide recommendations on funding and debt restructurings.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of investment opportunities and project transactions in line with DBSA's strategy and mandate.
  • Support business development by analysing sales activity, pipeline data, and client plans.
  • Conduct in-depth market, sector, and client research to support trade finance pipeline development.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for trade finance transactions, including cash flow projections, pricing scenarios, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Prepare and update project plan documents and assist in the preparation of project management deliverables.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards for steering committees, Exco, and the Board.
  • Assist in the early-stage screening of potential transactions, evaluating alignment with institutional mandate and risk appetite.
  • Monitor and track programme and project budget spending.

About The Role

The Analyst ICT is an entry-level permanent position within the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), designed as a stepping-stone for graduates who have completed the DBSA graduate programme, providing practical on-the-job training in investment banking, trade finance, project finance, and related activities. DBSA is a development finance institution mandated to accelerate sustainable socioeconomic development across Southern Africa and the broader continent through infrastructure investment and financing. The role is based permanently in Midrand, Gauteng.
