Job summary

TFG (The Foschini Group) seeks an Allocator to support merchandise strategy by analyzing stock levels, deliveries, and store needs. You will coordinate with suppliers, DC, and stores to ensure timely stock and effective replenishment.

The role requires 1–2 years of relevant experience, solid numeracy, and strong Excel/BI planning tools skills. You will work with Planners and Buyers to implement strategic distribution and optimize product availability across stores.

Qualifications

• Matric is essential and a relevant tertiary qualification is preferred.
• 1–2 years relevant experience is required.
• High numeracy with an analytical, detailed and strategic approach to work.
• Proficient in Excel and capable of using BI/planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory from supplier through DC to stores.
• Formulate and execute merchandise distribution strategy and support stores/operations.
• Collaborate with Planners and Buyers to implement the Merchandise Strategy.
• Conduct store and merchandise-related analysis (style, sizing).
• Monitor stock delivery and take corrective action as needed.
• Manage replenishment and communicate with stores and operations.

Job Description

The Allocator is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Merchandise Strategy by conducting store and merchandise-related analysis. They liaise with suppliers, stores, and the Distribution Centre regarding stock levels, deliveries, and general queries, ensuring effective stock management and timely delivery of stock.

Responsibilities

• The portfolio entails the strategic inbound and outbound management of inventory from supplier through the DC and finally to stores.
• Allocators are also responsible for formulating and executing a merchandise distribution strategy, as well as act as a point of contact for stores and operations for product requirements and require dedicated administration.
• Working with Planners and Buyers to fully implement the Merchandise Strategy
• Store and merchandise-related (style and sizing) analysis
• Monitoring the delivery of stock and take appropriate action
• Replenishment management
• Effective communication with stores & Operations.
• Monitoring product performance to take appropriate action
• Regular store visits where appropriate

Qualifications

• Matric essential (+ Relevant Tertiary Qualification)
• 1-2 years relevant experience required
• A high degree of numeracy and an analytical, detailed and strategic approach to work
• Excelsat data analysis and the ability to draw inferences
• Strong business acumen and merchant thinking
