Job summary

TFG (The Foschini Group) is seeking an Allocator to support the merchandise strategy through stock analysis, liaising with suppliers, stores and the distribution centre to ensure timely stock delivery and optimal levels.

You will work with Planners and Buyers to implement distribution strategies, perform store and merchandise analysis, monitor deliveries, manage replenishment and maintain strong communication with stores and operations.

Qualifications

• Matric essential and a relevant tertiary qualification.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• A high degree of numeracy with an analytical, detailed and strategic approach to work.
• Excel and data analysis capability, with ability to draw inferences.

Responsibilities

• Involves strategic inbound and outbound management of inventory from supplier through DC to stores.
• Formulate and execute a merchandise distribution strategy; serve as the point of contact for stores and operations for product requirements.
• Collaborate with Planners and Buyers to implement the Merchandise Strategy.
• Perform store and merchandise-related (style and sizing) analysis.
• Monitor stock deliveries and take appropriate action; manage replenishment.

Job Description

The Allocator is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Merchandise Strategy by conducting store and merchandise-related analysis. They liaise with suppliers, stores, and the Distribution Centre regarding stock levels, deliveries, and general queries, ensuring effective stock management and timely delivery of stock.

Responsibilities

• The portfolio entails the strategic inbound and outbound management of inventory from supplier through the DC and finally to stores.
• Allocators are also responsible for formulating and executing a merchandise distribution strategy, as well as act as a point of contact for stores and operations for product requirements and require dedicated administration.
• Working with Planners and Buyers to fully implement the Merchandise Strategy
• Store and merchandise-related (style and sizing) analysis
• Monitoring the delivery of stock and take appropriate action
• Replenishment management
• Effective communication with stores & Operations.
• Monitoring product performance to take appropriate action
• Regular store visits where appropriate

Qualifications

• Matric essential (+ Relevant Tertiary Qualification)
• 1-2 years relevant experience required
• A high degree of numeracy and an analytical, detailed and strategic approach to work
• Excelsat data analysis and the ability to draw inferences
• Strong business acumen and merchant thinking
