Job summary

The Allocator position at TFG (The Foschini Group) supports the Merchandise Strategy through stock analysis and coordination with suppliers, stores, and the Distribution Centre to ensure timely deliveries.

You will collaborate with Planners and Buyers to implement strategies, manage replenishment, monitor stock performance, and conduct regular store visits to provide actionable insights and strong stock control.

Qualifications

• Matric essential plus relevant tertiary qualification.
• 1-2 years relevant experience required.
• Strong numeracy and an analytical, detailed and strategic approach to work.
• Excel/BI tools data analysis and the ability to draw inferences.
• Strong business acumen and merchant thinking.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory flow from supplier through DC to stores.
• Formulate and execute a merchandise distribution strategy; be a single point of contact for stores and operations.
• Work with Planners and Buyers to implement the Merchandise Strategy.
• Store and merchandise-related (style and sizing) analysis.
• Monitor stock deliveries and take appropriate action.
• Replenishment management.
• Communicate effectively with stores and operations.
• Monitor product performance and act accordingly.
• Conduct regular store visits where appropriate.

The Allocator is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Merchandise Strategy by conducting store and merchandise-related analysis. They liaise with suppliers, stores, and the Distribution Centre regarding stock levels, deliveries, and general queries, ensuring effective stock management and timely delivery of stock.

The Allocator is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Merchandise Strategy by conducting store and merchandise-related analysis. They liaise with suppliers, stores, and the Distribution Centre regarding stock levels, deliveries, and general queries, ensuring effective stock management and timely delivery of stock.

Responsibilities

• The portfolio entails the strategic inbound and outbound management of inventory from supplier through the DC and finally to stores.
• Allocators are also responsible for formulating and executing a merchandise distribution strategy, as well as act as a point of contact for stores and operations for product requirements and require dedicated administration.
• Working with Planners and Buyers to fully implement the Merchandise Strategy
• Store and merchandise-related (style and sizing) analysis
• Monitoring the delivery of stock and take appropriate action
• Replenishment management
• Effective communication with stores & Operations.
• Monitoring product performance to take appropriate action
• Regular store visits where appropriate

Qualifications

• Matric essential (+ Relevant Tertiary Qualification)
• 1-2 years relevant experience required
• A high degree of numeracy and an analytical, detailed and strategic approach to work
• Excelsat data analysis and the ability to draw inferences
• Strong business acumen and merchant thinking
