Placements24 in Upington, Northern Cape is seeking an Airport Operations Specialist to support daily airport activities, coordinate with airlines and service providers, monitor facilities and assist in flight movements and passenger services. The ideal candidate is organized, communicates well, and understands basic aviation procedures.

This on-site role requires presence at the airport during operational hours and offers hands-on training, career development, and benefits as the region supports

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Aviation Management, Logistics or related field.
• 1-2 years of airport/aviation experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of airport operations and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating daily flight schedules and on-time performance.
• Liaise with airlines, ground handlers and service providers.
• Monitor facilities and infrastructure; report maintenance needs.
• Support passenger flow, security and baggage handling processes.
• Respond to disruptions or emergencies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of airport activities and data.
• Support flight crews and passengers as required.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and safety procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within operations.
