Placements24 seeks a skilled Aircraft Structures Mechanic to join our Paarl maintenance facility. You will maintain airframe structures, fabricate components, and perform repairs to ensure airworthiness and structural integrity in line with safety standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with structural components, reading engineering drawings, and proficiency with metal/fabrication tools. Composite repair knowledge is advantageous, with emphasis on safety and quality in a reputable

Qualifications

• Experience as Aircraft Structures Mechanic or Sheet Metal Mechanic.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and repair schemes.
• Experience with composite repair techniques is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair aircraft fuselage, wings, empennage, and structural components.
• Fabricate and form metal and composite parts per repair schemes and drawings.
• Perform structural repairs including riveting, bonding, and welding per specs.
• Conduct NDT as required to assess structural integrity.
• Document all maintenance actions per company and regulatory standards.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Structures Mechanic to join their maintenance facility in Paarl . This role is critical for maintaining the structural integrity and airworthiness of aircraft through expert repair and maintenance of airframes. You will be responsible for performing detailed inspections, fabricating parts, and executing repairs on various aircraft structures, ensuring adherence to the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain aircraft fuselage, wings, empennage, and other structural components.
• Fabricate and form metal and composite parts as per repair schemes and technical drawings.
• Perform structural repairs, including riveting, bonding, and welding, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications.
• Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) as required to assess structural integrity.
• Document all maintenance and repair actions accurately in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and engineers to resolve structural issues efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Aircraft Structures Mechanic or Sheet Metal Mechanic.
• In-depth knowledge of aircraft structural materials, repair techniques, and relevant aviation regulations.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and repair schemes.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments, sheet metal tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Experience with composite repair techniques is advantageous.
