Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technician for our George, Western Cape facility. The role focuses on airworthiness, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across a diverse fleet. The position is hands-on and requires presence at the George hangar.

You will work with hydraulics, pneumatics, engines, avionics, and structures, while upholding the highest safety and quality standards in aviation. Relocation to George may be required.

Qualifications

• Aviation trade qualification or certification (e.g., SA CAA Part 66 AML).
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience as an aircraft maintenance technician.
• Experience with fixed-wing and/or rotary-wing aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and servicing per manufacturer specs and regulatory requirements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues on various aircraft.
• Interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide tasks.
• Document maintenance activities in logbooks and records.
• Troubleshoot systems failures and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with flight crews and operations to address issues promptly.
• Maintain clean, organized hangar/workshop areas.
• Assist with removal/installation of aircraft components and systems.
