About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join their essential team in Upington . This role is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of ground support equipment used in aviation operations, ensuring their safe and efficient functioning. You will perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and necessary repairs to keep GSE operational for flight handling and aircraft servicing. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on various GSE, including tow tractors, baggage carts, belt loaders, and more.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Conduct repairs and replace worn or faulty parts according to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status.
• Ensure all GSE meets safety and operational standards before returning to service.
• Respond to urgent repair requests to minimize operational downtime.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a GSE Technician or in a similar mechanical/electrical repair role, preferably within the aviation industry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
