Placements24 in South Africa is seeking an innovative AI Solutions Architect focused on Cognitive Services to join the technology division in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will design and implement cloud-based AI solutions, bridging business needs and technical delivery.

You will lead end-to-end AI platforms, evaluate models, and define MLOps practices while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure security, scalability, and robust performance across complex datasets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of experience designing and implementing complex IT solutions with a focus on AI/ML.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and their AI/ML services.
Experience with NLP, computer vision, speech recognition, and recommendation engines.
Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++.
Data modeling, data warehousing, and big data experience is a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Architectural role experience with roadmaps and strategies.
Knowledge of MLOps principles is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Design and architect end-to-end AI solutions leveraging cloud platforms and cognitive services (e.g., Azure Cognitive Services, AWS AI Services, Google Cloud AI).

Collaborate with stakeholders across different departments to understand their needs and ensure AI solutions align with business objectives.

Create and present technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and implementation plans.
Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of deployed AI solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field.
Proven experience (5+ years) in designing and implementing complex IT solutions, with a significant focus on AI and machine learning.
Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and their AI/ML services.
Experience with cognitive services such as natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, speech recognition, and recommendation engines.
Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in AI (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and big data technologies is a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in an architectural role, defining technical roadmaps and strategies.
