Placements24 is seeking a seasoned AI Solutions Architect to design and implement scalable AI solutions on leading cloud platforms. You will bridge business needs with cutting-edge AI technologies, architect end-to-end solutions, and mentor teams.

This on-site role is centered in Centurion, Gauteng, with a focus on collaboration and innovation. The role requires 7+ years in IT architecture with 4+ years in AI/ML, strong cloud expertise, and a proactive leadership mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of IT architecture experience, with at least 4 years focused on AI/ML solutions.
• Proven expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including their AI/ML services.
• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, algorithms, and deployment strategies.
• Experience with data engineering principles including data warehousing, ETL, and data pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or Scala.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes is a significant advantage.
• Understanding of MLOps principles and practices.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect comprehensive AI and Machine Learning solutions tailored to specific business requirements, leveraging cloud-native services.
• Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications for AI/ML systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Evaluate and select appropriate AI/ML services and tools from major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) for optimal solution performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and prototypes to validate architectural designs and demonstrate the value of proposed AI solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the AI solution lifecycle, from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, data scientists, and engineers, to ensure successful adoption and integration of AI solutions.
• Define best practices for AI model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management within cloud environments.
• Assess existing infrastructure and identify opportunities for leveraging AI to enhance capabilities and efficiency.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies, cloud services, and industry trends, incorporating them into architectural designs where appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 4 years focused on designing and implementing AI/ML solutions.
• Proven expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including their AI/ML service offerings (e.g., SageMaker, Azure ML, Vertex AI).
• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, algorithms, and deployment strategies.
• Experience with data engineering principles and practices, including data warehousing, ETL, and data pipelines.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in AI/ML (e.g., Python, R, Scala).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and influence decision-making.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a significant advantage.
