Placements24 is seeking an AI Solutions Architect in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. You will design scalable AI/ML solutions on leading cloud platforms, collaborating with clients and internal teams to turn business challenges into architecture and strategy.

You will lead PoCs, advise on tools and frameworks, and ensure solutions are secure, cost-efficient, and compliant while staying abreast of AI and cloud innovations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Solutions Architect with focus on AI/ML and cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI/ML services.
• Strong understanding of ML concepts, algorithms, and use cases.
• Experience with data engineering for building data pipelines.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Project leadership and architecture design capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end AI/ML solutions on leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), considering scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and propose suitable AI solutions.
• Develop proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and technical prototypes to validate proposed architectures and demonstrate feasibility.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design to deployment and ongoing optimization.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate AI/ML services, tools, and frameworks for specific use cases.
• Create detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, implementation plans, and best practice guidelines.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, cloud computing, and data analytics.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices within the engineering and data science communities.
• Assess existing client infrastructures and recommend strategies for integrating AI capabilities.
• Ensure solutions adhere to industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Solutions Architect, Technical Architect, or similar role, with a strong focus on AI/ML and cloud technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI/ML services (e.g., SageMaker, Azure ML, Vertex AI).
• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, algorithms, and common use cases.
• Experience with data engineering principles and technologies for building data pipelines.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex, scalable, and reliable solutions.
• Experience with AI/ML project management methodologies is a plus.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect) are highly desirable.
