Our client, a prominent technology solutions provider in Durban , KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking an experienced AI Solutions Architect to design and implement robust AI and data platforms. This role operates on a hybrid model, allowing for a blend of in-office synergy and remote autonomy. You will be responsible for architecting scalable, high-performance AI solutions that leverage big data technologies and machine learning. This position requires a strong understanding of cloud platforms, data engineering principles, and various AI/ML methodologies. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to translate business requirements into technical strategies, ensuring the successful delivery of transformative AI-driven solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end AI and machine learning solutions, including data pipelines, model training, and deployment strategies.
• Evaluate and select appropriate AI/ML technologies, tools, and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and define technical solutions.
• Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes to demonstrate the viability of proposed AI solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on AI best practices, architectural patterns, and implementation methodologies.
• Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of AI platforms and solutions.
• Document architectural designs, technical specifications, and implementation plans.

• Assist in pre-sales activities, including client consultations and proposal development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in software architecture, with at least 4 years focused on designing and implementing AI/ML solutions.
• Proven experience architecting solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of data engineering principles, big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop), and database systems.
• Expertise in various AI/ML techniques and frameworks (e.g., supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with MLOps practices and CI/CD for AI models.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead technical teams and influence stakeholders.
• Experience in client-facing roles or consulting is a strong advantage.
