Placements24 is seeking an AI Ethics Specialist to join the Bloemfontein office and help shape the ethical framework of advanced AI applications. You will work with research, engineering and legal teams to establish guidelines and assess impact across projects.

The role emphasizes developing policies, conducting risk assessments, and training stakeholders on responsible AI practices, with exposure to cutting-edge tech in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Master's or advanced degree in Ethics, Philosophy, Law or Computer Science.
• 3+ years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI or related policy areas.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, capabilities and limitations.
• Knowledge of legal, regulatory and societal implications of AI.
• Excellent analytical, research and communication skills.
• Ability to navigate complex ethical dilemmas and provide practical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive AI ethics policies and frameworks.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for AI projects and products.
• Advise engineering and product teams on best practices for responsible AI development.
• Monitor AI systems for bias, fairness, and transparency, recommending corrective actions.
• Stay abreast of global regulations, standards, and evolving discourse in AI ethics.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions on AI ethics for internal stakeholders.
