Job Title: AI Automation Developer

Build practical AI and automation tools that remove repetitive work, improve publishing and production workflows and help colleagues focus on the decisions that matter most.

We're looking for an AI Automation Developer to turn automation opportunities into working solutions that improve how content is created, managed and delivered across Cambridge SSA. This is a hands‑on development role focused on building, testing and maintaining automation that delivers real operational value.

About The Role

As an AI Automation Developer, you'll work closely with colleagues across publishing, production, content development and technology teams to build automation tools that solve genuine business problems. You'll develop workflows, integrations and AI‑enabled solutions that reduce manual effort, improve consistency and help teams work more efficiently.

This is not an AI research or architecture role. It's a practical build role for someone who enjoys creating reliable tools, improving workflows and working directly with users to deliver solutions that make a measurable difference. You'll be responsible for taking approved automation opportunities and turning them into secure, maintainable and well‑documented tools that colleagues trust and use.

Key responsibilities include

• Building and maintaining workflow automations, integrations and AI‑enabled tools.


• Developing content‑processing solutions and productivity tools that support publishing and production workflows.


• Testing, monitoring and improving tools to ensure reliability and performance.


• Creating clear documentation and supporting colleagues in adopting new solutions.


• Applying appropriate data‑handling, privacy and governance controls within every build

About You

You'll be a hands‑on builder with experience developing automation, integrations or workflow solutions in a business environment. You'll enjoy solving operational problems, working closely with users and creating tools that improve how work gets done. You'll balance technical capability with practical judgement, understanding that successful automation must fit real‑world workflows and be trusted by the people using it.

You will also be able to demonstrate

• Experience building and supporting workflow automations, integrations, scripts or internal productivity tools.


• Experience using low‑code automation platforms such as n8n, Power Automate or similar workflow technologies.


• Experience developing solutions using Python, JavaScript or similar scripting languages, including working with APIs and system integrations.


• Experience testing, monitoring, documenting and maintaining production‑ready tools and workflows.


• Experience working with AI‑enabled, automation or content‑processing solutions to improve operational processes
