Placements24 is seeking an Agricultural Technician in Upington to support field trials, laboratory analyses, and equipment maintenance. You will collect data, perform routine tests, and assist researchers and farm managers in a dynamic agricultural setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, or a related technical field.
• Some practical experience in a farm setting or agricultural laboratory is preferred.
• Basic understanding of plant science, soil science, and agricultural practices.
• Proficiency in using basic laboratory equipment and data recording methods.
• Ability to follow instructions precisely and work methodically.
• Good physical condition to perform outdoor tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and conducting field experiments, including planting, cultivation, and harvesting.
• Perform routine laboratory tests on soil, water, and plant samples.
• Operate and maintain agricultural machinery, tools, and scientific equipment.
• Collect, record, and organize data from experiments and farm operations accurately.
• Assist in implementing pest and disease monitoring programs.
• Ensure proper sanitation and organization of laboratory and field work areas.
