Placements24 is seeking an Agricultural Project Coordinator to lead projects that improve farming practices and livelihoods in Mahikeng, North West. You will plan from inception to completion, provide farmer training, monitor progress, and report outcomes to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has a background in agronomy and at least 4 years in project management, with strong facilitation and data skills. The role supports climate-smart farming and local market access, with flexible remote work

• Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in agricultural project management or related role.
• Strong knowledge of sustainable farming and soil management.
• Excellent communication, training and facilitation skills.

This position is crucial for managing and overseeing agricultural projects that aim to improve farming practices, increase yields, and enhance livelihoods for local farmers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in agronomy or agricultural science, proven project management skills, and a deep understanding of the agricultural landscape in North West . You will play a key role in empowering farmers and contributing to the region's agricultural development in Mahikeng .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and manage agricultural projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and objectives.
• Provide technical support and training to farmers on sustainable agricultural practices, crop management, and soil health.
• Monitor project progress, collect data on farm yields, and assess project impact.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, community leaders, and agricultural stakeholders in Mahikeng .
• Identify project challenges and develop effective solutions to ensure project success.
• Organize and facilitate farmer field days, workshops, and demonstration plots.
• Prepare project reports, proposals, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of agricultural innovations, research, and best practices relevant to the region.
• Manage project resources, including materials, equipment, and budget.
• Promote the adoption of climate-smart agriculture techniques and water conservation methods.
• Facilitate market access initiatives for farmers to improve their income.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is an advantage.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in agricultural project management, extension services, or a related role, preferably in the North West province.
• Strong knowledge of sustainable farming techniques, crop production, and soil management.
• Proven experience in project planning, implementation, and monitoring.
• Excellent communication, training, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of farmers and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within rural areas around Mahikeng .
• Passion for agricultural development and food security.
• Understanding of the socio-economic context of farming communities in the North West .
