Placements24 is seeking an Agricultural Field Officer to support farmers in Klerksdorp, North West. You will disseminate best practices, provide technical guidance, and assist farmers in improving crop yields and farm management.

You will link research with on-farm implementation and promote sustainable, profitable farming methods. The role requires a degree or diploma in Agriculture or Agronomy, field experience, strong communication, and willingness to travel within the region.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field.
• Experience in field agronomy or agricultural extension services.
• Strong knowledge of local crops, farming systems, and challenges prevalent in the region.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a remote schedule effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular farm visits to assess crop health, soil conditions, and management practices.
• Provide technical guidance on crop cultivation, pest/disease control, and fertilization.
• Promote sustainable farming techniques and water conservation methods.
• Organize and conduct farmer training workshops and demonstration days.
