Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Agricultural Extension Officer to serve farming communities in Polokwane. You will provide farmers with up-to-date information, technical advice, and training on best practices, new technologies, and sustainable farming.

You will liaise with research institutions, support farmer groups, and help improve productivity, profitability, and environmental stewardship across Limpopo.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Rural Development or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in agricultural extension or advisory roles.
• Strong understanding of crop production, livestock management and farming practices in the region.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and training abilities.
• Ability to travel extensively within the Polokwane region.

Responsibilities

• Disseminate knowledge through workshops, field days, and individual consultations.
• Assess local farmers' needs and provide crop, pest, soil and livestock recommendations.
