Placements24 is seeking an Agricultural Farm Manager to oversee operations at a prominent farm in Midrand. The role focuses on sustainable farming, crop and livestock management, and driving operational excellence to maximize yield while ensuring safety and productivity.

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on leadership style, a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field, and at least five years of farm management experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement farm management plans including crop rotation and harvesting strategies.

• Manage seed, fertiliser, pesticide and equipment inventory.
• Monitor crop health, soil, and weather, and take interventions as needed.
• Oversee livestock health, feeding, breeding, and welfare.
• Maintain detailed records of activities, yields, expenses and labor.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive farm management plans, including crop rotation, planting schedules, and harvesting strategies.
• Supervise and train farm staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficient task execution.
• Manage inventory of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and equipment, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
• Monitor crop health, soil conditions, and weather patterns, implementing necessary interventions.
• Oversee livestock health and management, ensuring proper feeding, breeding, and welfare.
• Maintain detailed records of farm activities, production yields, expenses, and labor.

Requirements
