Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Agricultural Estate Manager to oversee operations at a large estate in Midrand. The role focuses on farm production, land stewardship, and team leadership to ensure profitability, sustainability, and compliant practices.

You will develop strategic plans for crops and livestock, manage budgets, maintain records, and uphold health, safety, and environmental standards. A Bachelor's in Agriculture and seven years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in agricultural management.
• Strong knowledge of crop science, soil management, and disease/pest control.
• Experience budgeting and allocating resources for large-scale operations.
• Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with farm management software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for crop cultivation, livestock management, and land utilization.
• Oversee daily farm operations, including planting, harvesting, irrigation, pest control, and animal husbandry.
• Manage and lead a team of farm workers, providing training, supervision, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain detailed records of production, expenses, and inventory, and prepare regular operational reports.
• Ensure the upkeep and efficient operation of all farm machinery, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance standards across the estate.
