Placements24 is seeking an experienced Agricultural Operations Manager in Cape Town to oversee day-to-day farming operations across a large-scale enterprise. You will lead a team of farm workers, plan crop production from planting to harvest, monitor yields, and implement best practices to maximise efficiency and profitability.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Agriculture and 5+ years of farm management experience, with strong knowledge of crop science, pest management, and modern farming

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in farm management or agricultural operations.
• Solid knowledge of modern farming techniques, crop science, and pest management.
• Experience with farm machinery operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual crop production plans aligned with market demands and resources.
• Supervise daily farm operations including land prep, planting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
• Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
• Oversee procurement of seeds, fertilizers, equipment, and farming supplies.
• Manage labor resources including recruitment, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
• Monitor crop health and growth; implement corrective actions to maximize yields and quality.
