Placements24 seeks an Agricultural Engineer to join their Klerksdorp team, focusing on design, development, and implementation of agricultural machinery and systems. The role spans mechanization, irrigation, soil and water conservation, with on-site visits and some remote work in a hybrid setup.

The candidate will apply engineering principles to farming operations, driving efficiency, sustainability, and productivity across North West operations in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
• Proven experience in agricultural machinery design, farm structures, or water resource management.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering design tools.
• Strong understanding of physics, mechanics, and material science as applied to agriculture.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with potential for some remote work and on-site visits to Klerksdorp.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test new agricultural machinery and equipment.
• Plan and supervise the installation and maintenance of irrigation, drainage, and soil conservation systems.
• Analyze farm operations to identify areas for mechanization and efficiency improvements.
• Ensure that all engineering designs comply with safety standards and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical expertise and support to farm managers and operational staff.
• Research and recommend new technologies and methodologies to enhance farm productivity.
