Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a busy professional family in Centurion, Gauteng, to hire a dedicated nanny and educational assistant for two school-aged children (7 and 9). You will manage after-school routines, help with homework, and coordinate enrichment activities, with a remote planning component for curriculum development.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in childcare, a relevant education degree is advantageous, strong organization, excellent communication, First Aid/CPR, and English

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in childcare for school-aged children.
• A degree or diploma in Education, Child Psychology, or related field is advantageous.
• Ability to assist with homework across multiple subjects.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple schedules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, responsibility and nurturing disposition.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Proficiency in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote planning team.
• Must be legally permitted to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for two school-aged children after school hours.
• Provide homework assistance and ensure all assignments are completed.
• Organize and accompany children to extracurricular activities, sports and social events.
• Plan and execute educational games and activities that supplement school learning.
• Prepare healthy snacks and light meals for the children.
• Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times.
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents about the children's day and progress.
• Manage children's schedules and appointments.
• Occasional light housekeeping duties related to the children's needs.
