Job summary

Au Pair Extraordinaire is seeking an Afrikaans au pair for two children in Floracliffe, Roodepoort. Shifts are 12:30–17:30 on Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri, with January 2027 start for a permanent role. Responsibilities include school pick-ups, meals, activities, and homework support.

Two children aged 5 and 7 will require engaging, age-appropriate supervision. A car and valid license are essential, as is Afrikaans language ability and a genuine love for children.

Qualifications

• 12 months of formal childcare experience within the last 2 years.
• Own reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• At least 2 childcare references that are contactable.

Responsibilities

A family is looking for an AFRIKAANS AU PAIR for their 2 children
Area: Floracliffe, Roodepoort
Ages: 5-year-old in Grade RR; 7-year-old in Grade 1 (2026)
Working hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12:30 – 17:30
School Holidays: Same as above/flexible
Duties: Transport the children from school and extra-mural activities. Prepare lunches and snacks. Supervise and assist with extra-mural activities, and engage the children in fun, age-appropriate and intellectually stimulating activities.
Additional Requirements: Afrikaans. Christian. 20+. Own vehicle and valid driver’s license. Preference will be given to a candidate with an educational qualification or someone busy studying towards an educational degree. Personality type: Soft/kind/patient. Enjoys playing games and outdoor activities with kids. Strong academically to help and explain homework concepts.
Start date: January 2027 – Permanent | December handover period for successful candidate if possible
Salary: R10000 – R12000 per month (Gross, before deductions) + SARS ratesperkm(R4.95)

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
